Down on the farm

Today we went to Slate Run, another Metropark with a living historical farm. For some reason, whenever we make the 30 minute drive, it decides to rain, but we had fun anyway. Michael and Luke love the pigs--very smelly. I noticed a couple of smallish pigs and told Luke that they were probably some of the pigs who had been babies last time we visited. One of the farmers heard me talking to him and said "Have you been to the smokehouse yet? That's where their brothers and sisters are." I would have been horrified if the smokehouse hadn't smelled so darn good. Mmmm, bacon.
The highlight was actually a large green caterpillar that we saw on our way out.

How does one sign up to secure one of the big green wormy things?

Cute kids...believe they'd make excellent grandchildren!
