Pear Picking

We harvested the pears from the two trees in our backyard today. It was supposed to be a group activity with some of Luke's friends, but Luke's had a fever and sore throat, so we just did it as a family. Total bummer because it was a beautiful, not-too-hot morning. Matt's going to make hard cider with the pears--not sure whether we have not enough pears or too many pears. It's kind of an experiment, but definitely preferable to just letting them fall and rot on the ground like the last two years.
